It’s certainly obvious how it’s been such a rough time for everyone these past couple of years. My own hiatus from this site has been a necessity in my life, for me to stay in check with myself, and my family. I am at a point now though where I’m ready to board the book blog train again!

Reading has been one of the things keeping me sane during yet another year of COVID mishaps and blues. I won’t dive into that conversation, it’s too depressing. I AM excited however, to finally be able to share with everyone all of my latest literary discoveries.

I always stand by how amazingly easy it is to escape reality with just a bit of tree and some scribbles, and escaping reality is something we have all needed so much of lately. I am glad that I have the capacity to keep building my collection of these sanity-saving bits of wonder and awe, to the point in which I now have my own small home library! I promise to share a photo of my 3 overfilled bookshelves in time when it is a bit more aesthetically appropriate for the internet.

Having this small space in my living room which is always in my peripherals at minimum, inspires me to read more and more every day. That and of course, my book hauls this year have gotten out of hand, so I need to be able to justify my immediate purchases for every time Booktopia let’s me know they have sales or free shipping! Ooops. Sorry wallet. This was my last haul, thankfully it’s not as big as my others!

Also I can’t forget to mention that I’m now a mum of two! If I thought I was busy before two kids, I definitely had no real idea. My boys are keeping me on my toes but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love them to the moon and back.

Right at this moment, I’m working on diving straight back into book club! We already have our pick of the month – The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller. This novel has been a hit this year so it is one I have been keen to dive into for a hot minute now. Our date for the book club meeting is sometime in December this year but it’s still TBA. I’ll keep you posted.

As a work in progress, or more of a work-to-fit-into-my-routine, I will become active again with my original Books That Wander endeavours, including but not limited to interviewing authors, discovering new bookstores, visiting old favourites, reviewing books, and leaving random literary treasures around for people to discover. Who knows, I may even have some more content up my sleeve, we will see in due time.

I’m excited you guys, I think I need this. It’s something pretty positive for me to look forward to and I hope that I can enlighten and entertain you all at the same time too.

Catch you all soon! Happy reading xx

    • Aaaaah thank you! So sorry for the late reply haha! Project Hail Mary is definitely on my TBR too, as I’ve seen so many people rave about it. I thought it was best though to start with the Martian at least. It’s been on my TBR for a very long time
